James Sepulvado currently serves as Instrumental Music Director at Point Loma High School in San Diego, CA where his responsibilities include conducting the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band as well as directing the Point Loma High School Vanguard. In addition James teaches Music Theory and oversees the Color Guard program as the music department at PLHS continues to grow and improve. In addition to his teaching duties James is a freelance professional tuba player and composer. Before joining the faculty at Point Loma High James taught marching band, conducted sectionals and clinicianed numerous high schools throughout southern California. As a visual coordinator James oversaw two undefeated Marching Bands and earned superior ratings at various SCSBOA festivals. James has a B.A. in Music Education from San Diego State University and is currently completing a M.A. in Education at National University. James has studied tuba with Eric Weirather, Kelly Thomas and Brent Dutton and has studied conducting with Eric Weirather and Gregg Hanson. James is a co-founder of the newly formed San Diego Winds.
